I got back from there around 3:30 this morning, I was right in front on the floor at the weigh-in. I have a bunch of pics from my phone and I'm downloading them now, have to see how they turned out. The intro for Swindle was really neat, I think everybody was a bit choked up. KVD came out last and after watching guys with 1#, 4#, 0, etc. it was just crazy to see him pull out that huge sack. That guy is something else, he has a 6th sense about what the bass are doing and how to catch them. There was a sweet video of him catching that 6-3 on a chart/black back squarebill crankbait. I'm going fishing now and will upload pics this evening and write up a new thread. Here's a few: and because of the fog a lot of guys were running radar units: And maybe it's a cruel joke, but the BassTrakk live estimate shows KVD with over 32# today: http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/b...bers/basstrakk |

My eyes are still on Chapman. If he gets a 10# class fish it will be real interesting. he is saying that the water temps are a lot lower today than they were yesterday for some reason.

Watching the weigh-in now, what is up with making such a big deal out of guys being in 3rd, 4th, etc. place when there are still 22 more guys to weigh in???? Talk about over-selling it at this point...

It's just hard to wrap your head around how great KVD really is. Whether you like him or not there is no question that he is the best angler to ever pick up a rod and reel. He can dominate a tournament anywhere in the country, no matter what the pattern is.

This is common for any MC at any any national event. Watch FLW tour, they do the same thing.

I agree with you WaterBoy. He changed my perception of him at the weigh in. He was very gracious and not at all bitter, like I thought he might be.

I agree that Aaron Martens said some very cool things while on stage too. However I was begining to wonder if he was ever gonna stop talking lol. Brandon Palaniuk seems like a very good guy. I was very impressed with everything he had to say about everyone who helped him make fishing the Classic possible. I hope we see more from him in the future. |
