I always stand and sometimes lean when I'm fishing jigs and worms.
Check these seats out. The contoured back is what sets them apart. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te....form23&Go.x=0 |

[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]If I’m casting a lot, I use my bicycle seat; and if I need to cast into a tight pocket, I stand up just long enough to cast, and right back on the seat I go; if I cat fishing I use my full seat w/ a back on it. Also add me to the list of bad backs. So if/once it starts to hurt, I just lay down and take a short break with my knees bent. Plus I have a bottle of ibuprofen that I take with me every time I fish, either my boat or a friends.

One thing that would help the back fatigue is better shoes. Stress on the feet keeps traveling upward and really wears on the bad areas (knees and back for me).
I bet a pair of shoes like nurses wear would do wonders. Stay clear of candy striper uniforms though A lot of the pros have tennis shoes with extra support. Even a pair of gel inserts would probably help

I'd try the gel inserts first if I were you. They're pretty cheap. I should do the same

ever since I switched to New Balance shoes, my feet and legs hurt less which also reduces back strain on my already bad back...
The pair I have now is New Balance 737... This is a brand new pair, my second pair in the past 3 years since I loved the first so much. I walked around the local pond for a few hours Sunday with no problems... |
