The larger line can sometimes cause fish not to bite. That doesn't mean the 50 lb braid is worthless, in fact I use 30 lb braid most of the time. For finnessing bass its probably a better idea to go with lighter line though. Its also easier to cast smaller lures with light line.

I started out using this method a while ago, and you cna use black too...
Thats the color that really did it for me. I would reddomend everything thatb WTL has said, and I would buy a pack of renegade worms(1.49$ for 20), and get a weight and texas rig them. That way, you can fish the botoom, and cast accurately. Just MO |

14 lb is too big for finessing, plus its braid so its more visible.
I mean you can do it with that line, but it would be better to get 6 or 8 pound test P-line flouro clear. 8 pound test is about as heavy as I would go.

Yep, and if you cnat get nothing, take the tail off. I know it sounds wierd, but there are times when they want the tail, and times when they dont.

You can also try this and it works for the most wary redfish or Yfin Tuna(the most picky fish around). Take about a 2-3ft. section of 10 -20lb. mono or fluro and tie it with a uni-uni knot to your braid and now they can't see your line!!!

Here it is. I'd recommend using the uni knot for everything too, hence the name! |

well if a lot of poeple fish the pond then bigger baits would be ok. but if it isnt a high pressured place fish light and make extra long casts. if there is a lot of lilly pads or weeds try a scumfrog or scumfrog popper. also if its shallow enough try wading out about 4-8 feet and fish the sides.have you tried a senko wacky style.if not give it a shot. good luck and keep me posted
