Cav's
The concept is farily easy. Once you draft players, you will pick your starters every week. They will get you points based on their performance on the field. Every league is a little different in how they set up the scoring. But it is farily typical that a WR/RB will get 1 point for every 10 yards that they gain and 6 points for a TD. In my leagues I start 2 qb's. The reason is that it spreads out the pool of players more you will need 2 starters and at least one back up for bye weeks/injury. I also add points for QB completions (1/4 pt) and deduct for incompletions (1/10 pt). My league doesn't have you picking defensive players, but you do pick an overall defense. Once you have your team drafted (a player can only be on one team) you can them trade players or pick up undrafted players until you have filled the max roster.

No. Yahoo keeps track of the scoring for you. Each week your team will play against another team. The team with the most points wins. There are tie-breakers in case of ties, but being that this league will score fractional points, there is almost never a tie.
All you have to do is keep your team updated. (Injured players, bye weeks, bad match ups)

You will need a yahoo account. I will email out the invite and then you rank the players. We hold a live draft where each person picks the available players until all rosters are filled. Draft order is identified 1 hour before the draft starts.

We will schedule a draft once the league is full. We currently have 4 players signed up. I know of 2 more who will be joining this weekend. The draft it a live draft meaning that we all log in and tak eturn picking our players. If you can not join the draft, yahoo picks according to your predraft rankings. It will fill your roster with the highest ranked available player when it is your turn.

For those who have joined.
It looks like we will have 12 teams instead of 10. This means that we can either downsize the rosters to 1 starting QB or leave it with 2. If we leave it with 2 it means that there are not enough starting QBs to go around, but it makes the draft, trades, injury watching a lot more interesting.

Didn't know that we could have two starting QB's each week. I'm used to having only one so that works for me.
Sat afternoon on the 14th is draft day. I'll be fishing a tournament so I'll have to do a good job of ranking my selections. |

Smitty,
The draft date is just a place holder for now. We can adjust it to fit the schedules of the majority of players. We won't get all because we have east coast, west coast, and singapore folks in the league.

I have limited access at home and little time at work so I usually end up with letting computer select from my list. Probably why I don't win much.

Okay folks, the league is full.
We have 14 teams this year so we made a couple of changes. We will only have 1 starting QB. Because of that, I modified a slash position to include a QB if desired. With 14 teams, we have 2 divisions. The top 4 teams from each division advance to the playoffs. Since we have several 1st time players I will offer the following advice. Watch the bye weeks when you draft. Try to draft and pick up players with your head and not your heart. I am a die hard Redskins fan, but that does not mean I would draft McNabb or Portis an early pick. During the season, you don't have to manage your team daily, but do pay attention to the schedule. Once a team kicks off, you can not modify any players in that game. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Good luck and have fun.

And as always someone has to add " you are all playing for second place " .

I had to leave that one to you since my last year's performance didn't allow me to say it.
BTW, the league does accept and expect smack talk. Just remember that we have a couple of younger players on the team and as such keep it PG rated.

I agree Jim. Last year was 6 teams full of pro bowl players. There really wasn't much in the way of managing. Heck when a player got hurt you had top 20 players at that position undrafted. I think this year will force us all to look at players we can take chances on. It also means that you have to be willing ot let a banged up player sit your bench for fear of losing him if you don't.
