Ok, I've got room #8 reserved for the wife, the baby, and myself. If she decides to stay home rather than subject the little one to the car ride, I'll have room to share with somebody else (looking at you here, Bubba). We'll have to wait and see what the final decision is.

The Lodge is filling up quickly! Of the seven private rooms only two remain available for our event, rm#7 and rm#9, both of these are 2BR units that will sleep 6, with a rate of $90 night. Keep in mind that rm#9 is located on the second floor, along with rm#10. Bamabassman and Mrs.Bamabassman are planning on reserving rm#1, that is if they haven't already done so.
Keep in mind that there are also many many cottages and condos to choose from too. After a quick overview of the resort map, I noticed that the Elm, Redbud, Poplar cottages were all within a very short walk of the Lodge.http://www.starpointresort.com/Star%...rt%20Final.pdf The resort also has 15 campsites with electric and a bath-house on site. If your bringing your boat and would like a the use of a slip, remember to reserve one when you make your booking. The slips are $15 a day and are well worth the price. -Mark |

Thinking about Caitlyn's nap-time
Hey Daniel,
I would gladly trade my quieter room with yours if Louann does make the trip with Caitlyn. I believe this way Caitlyn would have a more peaceful nap-time. I had heard that rm#8 is located next to the main entrance of the building. And that rm#5 was on the opposite end of the building away from all the foot traffic. It's yours if needed. -Mark |

That's a good thought, Mark, and I appreciate it. I think she'll be ok either way, she sleeps well even with the TV on and 3-4 people talking in the same room with her. I don't really think it'll be necessary to move rooms so she'll be able to sleep.
Thanks for the thought, though.

What Woody really meant to say was he's hoping to get away from my snoring, and he'll throw a newborn baby under the bus to do it. ROFL. Just kidding.

I would love to make 10.5 hr drive down. But I will not drag my boat that far.. So unless I get a double HO status on a boat each day I can not commit.
I really really want to drive down in my hybrid to save gas and would like Dave to come down with me.. (to keep me awake) and fish with me... Does any place rent real bass boats down there? My google search says no. Capt Mike

I'll ask Nathan Copeland at the resort if he knows of anything. My guess is that you're looking for a non-tiller style boat. -Mark |

Mike, if the economy keeps up the way it is, you might be able to just buy a real bass boat down there for a couple hundred bucks, then just throw it away when you're done with it.

Here's an update on which rooms are still available at the Lodge, rm# 7 and #9, both are 2BR units which can accommodate up to 6 persons each. Rm# 7 and #9 rent for $110 a night.
It looks like we shouldn't have any trouble filling up the Lodge; but don't worry there's more. As of today, here is a list of the smaller cabins(1 and 2BR) that are still available: -Beech ( 2 bedroom, 8 people, $100 day) -Oaks ( 2 BR, 4 people, $75) -Sycamore (2 BR, 4 people, $80) -Hickory (1 BR, 2 people, $75) -Cedars (2 BR, 4 people, $80) -Buckeye (2 BR, 6 people, $95) -Mountain Laurel (1 BR, 2 people, $90) -all of the Condos (2 BR, 6 people, $115) Keep in mind that after the first of the year, these cabins will start to book up fast. Call and make your reservations. http://www.starpointresort.com/home.htm -Mark Last edited by woody; 10-24-09 at 04:56 PM. |

Boat Rental
I have some info for those of you that were looking to rent yourself something a little more than a john-boat for our Dale Hollow Event. The resort that we are staying at has one for rent. It's a 16ft. Javelin fish-n-ski with 90HP out-board and a trolling motor. It rents for $135 day.
-Mark The resort's website doesn't advertise the Javelin fish-n-ski. I was able to gain this information per my phone conversation with Nathan Copeland, owner of the resort. Last edited by woody; 10-25-09 at 05:41 PM. Reason: additional info. |

Boy...I was just looking at the map to Starpoint...and that is going to be one wild road trip. I definitely have to get a GPS for my truck before then.
