I type faster than I write, and about as fast as I talk. They taught it to us in 4th or 5th grade. Its a good thing too, cause it really factors into law exams. You get 3 hours, a few essay questions, and then type for 2 1/2 hours and what you get down on the computer is what you are graded on for the semester.
If you chicken peck, it will take years to write anything.

Your right kenneth. You and I have similar abilities when it comes to typing.
Sorry for the mix up but thanks for your response.

Well, if the comment was pointed at me...
I never learned to type in school. I can remember borrowing a classmate's typewriter one night at Rose-Hulman to get a paper done that was mandatory to be typed. It took me FOREVER. Oddly enough, I learned to hunt and peck fast while chatting on an online video game for years and years. What really made the difference for me was getting a job. Having to type dozens of emails every day and put notes on drawings eventually got me to 50-60 words per minute. I'm happy with that, but any time I want to be amazed, I watch our receptionist type up specifications for me. She has got to be 200 words per minute, with almost NO mistakes. It's scary.
