24 fish today:
21 largemouth on spin 3 peacock on spin A lot of the largemouth came on senkos worked on the surface while it was overcast. I also got some working a black tiny torpedo fast across the surface, on a perch shad rap, on a silver and black shad rap, and on a Mann's Hard Worm. I had a couple bass explode on the senko! A few jumped completely out of the water. I saw the whole body. This fish came at 7:30. One of a few fish thebassmaster123 and I got in the dark. My friend got a picture of a fish busting my Mann's Hard Worm. It didn't come out great, but he had great timing to get the shot. We didn't get any big fish, but we still had a great day watching largemouth explode on our topwater lures and worms. |

The two bluegill would give the guys way south (Florida) a chance. I wish I would have known though. Thebassmaster123 released a big bluegill that he caught on a 7.5 inch worm. He let it go because we don't catch crappie down here.

Dear Big Bass @ Rodman,
Please be warned, I'm on my way to that great Reservoir this morning. Be scared, very scared. However, my shoulders are sore so I won't be able to catch all of you today. I won't tell you where I'll be or what boat ramp I'm going to, but I guarente, I WILL find you. Sincerely, Rodman_Rob

The second bass up there on the tape was 20.75 I just showed it so you could see the increments on the ruler I was using.
That tape measure goes runs half inch increments... Also did you notice the one pic with two bass on one plug? One of the bass was three pounds the other was four.. |

We're on the board....maybe
Went out on Clear Lake with Deacon on my boat yesterday. We found cold, clear post front conditions and didn't have great expectaions. Water temp anywhere from 44 to 48 degrees throughout the day and visibility of 1 to 3 feet. It proved to be a fairly slow day with us catching prolly 15-18 or so bass, a couple crappie, and one gill. I also see after looking at my pictres that I need a new and better measuring tape for photographing.
Anyway, we ended up with Deacon scoring a 9 inch bluegill, a 14.5 inch crappie and an 18.5 inch bass. I ended up with a 20.5 inch bass, an 18.25 inch bass, and a 12.5 inch crappie. I didn't get a bluegill like Dinkon did though. I don't have as much practice catching bait like that. If you can't see the measuring board well enough and don't want to count those fish since the numbers are not showing up real well, We'll understand, an we'll just have to go out and catch some more next week. We both stand behind those measurments though. The 20.5 inch bass weighed almost exactly the same as the 18.25 bass on my cul-m-rite. I don't know if it was because the longer one was so skinny or the shorter wone was so fat, but they both came right at 3.75 +/- a couple hundredths. Also this was the maiden trip with my new truck pulling the boat. My new 5.4 F150 pulls the Champ a bit easier than the old 99 F150 V-6 for sure. |

Okay Capt. Jim you just gained 21".
Thanks Capt. Jim and The Bateman for your donations too! If any forum member is in the SW Florida area these guys need to be checked out, running a bass guide service and an offshore charter boat to the Middle Ground in the Gulf of Mexico. Christopher |
