You're full of sh.............. I mean great information. I'll be on the Potomac 4 days immediately before the Dale Hollow gig. I've caught one of those beasts - and they are a kill 'em and grill 'em species (actually in MD is is a mandatory kill when caught species). I believe a few years ago the BPS in Glen Burnie actually had a bounty on this fish - $25 store credit if I remember correctly. Didn't last long, as they had quite a few brought in.

I'm sure it's not $200 per.
Otherwise, you'd have jerks like me raising whole schools of them in aquariums for fishing money.

It's not. Catch, kill, photograph and submit for a drawing. Drawing winner gets the $200. And pal, I've never (well almost never) thought of you (well not too often) as a (well maybe a couple times, long ago) jerk. ONLY A MONTH TO GO!!!!!!!!!! |

$200 isn't bad for a pic of a dead one. Should have one or two in the livewell this month. Definately will catch 6-8 by end of May.
Paralyzed Vets tournament paid $10 per and $100 for big fish two years ago. Last year just a $100 big fish prize......came in with 4 little ones. |

I can say 100% that Capt. Mike will NOT kill any fish for any reason other that to eat it. (or to cut it up for bait )

The misprint from the ever so vigilant news reporters would have you beleave it is 200 buck per fish. But it is not. It is 200 bucks to one lucky winner of the drawing at the end of the year. Second place gets a something or another and third gets a year pass to MD state parks.
Boy that would be a disaster to pay for pics. But on a sidenote if you hold a commercial TFL and Fish sellers license you can get 12.95 per pound 'head on' from the mongers. Say you arrow 6 a day at 5 lbs each. You could make some decent cash. Capt Mike

I'm with you, Mike. The worst thing that could happen to the snakehead is that people develop a taste for them.
