Default Weather...

Stupid snow. We were supposed to go ice fishing yesterday morning, but it had snowed almost all of friday, and then all night and it snowed almost all day yesterday too. needless to say, we couldn't make it ice fishing. It finally stopped sometime last night, but this morning I woke up to what at first glaced look like VERY heavy snowfall. But it wasn't it's fog. Yeah, fog. It's 7 degress outside and foggy. It's gotten better, but I still can't see over 200 yards.

BB, how much snow did you get? We got abut 7" yesterday. All while at the show and made my normal hour drive turn into two hours. Only about 10 cars off the road (west bound). Cheer up, only 3 1/2 more months!

Here in Alabaster, just south of Birmingham, we have had lots of rain as bamabassman has stated. It has been pretty cold in the mornings but gets up to 40 to 60 by the afternoon. I was hoping to try out the new trolling motor yesterday but it rained all day. I may try this afternoon.

The local reservoir we'd fish at won't have the stone driveway plowed and my dad's little 2001 f150 sport would get stuck. Other than that, nothing.

I'd say between 8 and 10" It's supposed to get windy have have big drifts. That always makes driving fun.

Don't rub it is. High of like 24 today. This weeks HIGH'S are supposed to be in the low teens with sub zero lows and wind.

Ice fishing is best on a calm day, no wind and maybe some sun if you're lucky. The problem about snow is that it lands on what ever skin you have exposed and melts, leaving you wet. Its bad enough keeping you hands warm n dry after you handle fish caught and putting on new bait.
If you have a shelter or can turn your back to the snow it helps, but lots of times you just can't hide from it.

Here in the in our neck of the woods it is mid 70's to low 80's one day and then the low 30's the next I am ready for spring! Dont have to worry about ice fishing here unless it is in a pond the lake hardly ever freezes.
