RIP Doug Hannon
BassMaster
I remember the first time I seen him on TV as a child and wanting to be that dude hauling in the monsters.

Great asset to the sport with a wealth of knowledge. I remember him saying that the majority of 10# bass live in water less than 3' deep. He'll be missed.

We lose too many to terminal disease, but complications from neck surgery? What happened?
I once got a real email from Doug in response to a question I sent him. Was thinking about that 2 weeks ago, actually.

Oh, back in the 90s he promoted a software that had lake maps arrayed in color as to depth, really cool, detailed stuff, and I asked if they were going to introduce maps of some of the florida lakes.
He emailed back a pretty detailed answer about why they probably wouldn't - ie that lakes I was asking about really were just shallow bowls and it really wouldnt be worth my money to buy a map like that, cause the bass related more to cover than depth transitions.

I talked to a rod dealer today and mentioned about Doug. He said he saw him at the custom rod show in NC and said you would have thought he was drunk because he couldn't walk a straight line due to an injury. He said he had suffered from a bad fall and did something to the nerves and spine and was having a hard time recovering
