Default Bassin' in Houston

Looks like I'm going to be headed to Houston, TX for a new job opportunity some time in early spring. Big move from NYC and fishing the northeast.

I'm sure the fishing is probably much better than I am used to. Noticed that Sam Rayburn and Toldeo Bend are relatively close on a map, but how about near Houston? I will also probably be looking to get into more saltwater fishing as well.

Pretty pumped. Any member in the area/region?

Houston has a ton of public water around it. I have been to Buffalo Run and a few places on the SE between Houston and Pasadena when work takes me there. There is also Lake Houston on the E side of town. Pull up Google maps and you will see a lot of water around there. Also try a search for public fishing in Houston. And like you said, access to salt water is right down the road.

Jersey, there is quite bit of water in and around Houston. Rayburn isn't too far away but there are closer lakes. Remember, Texas is BIG, so distances on a map can be a lot farther away than they look. There are a lot of smaller waters you can fish, and the coast is not too far away. Overall the fishing is pretty good!

Congrats on the new job!
