Lightbulb Motorguide digital vs. non-digital

I finally accomplished changing my trolling system over to 24 volt(even though I had to cut the gas tank out to free up some room) - another story though!!

I now have to decide which trolling motor to choose. I have it narrowed down to a Motorguide Freshwater Bow mount foot control 71 lb. thrust 45 in shaft. I'm keeping my Gator Flex 360 mount on my boat and just exchanging out the shaft/motor with a local dealer. The digital model is 639.99 and non-digital is 589.99($50). I'm not familiar with digital. Is it worth $50 or would a non-digital serve the purpose. I noticed the digital model had a variable speed selector on the foot pedal and the non-digital had a 5 speed selector knob(which is what I've always had).

So hopefully after a few replies my decision will become very simple and satisfying. thanks for you help!!
