we have had a couple post about this already..... but
1: Mike iaconelli .... i even heard he found a honey hole 2: Greg Hackeny - great shallow fishermen... and a local (kind of) 3: Byron Velvick: he took my friend prefishing on the red river and invited him to the classic and is setting him up to be the guy who sits in boat and watches AND he got some free stuff from berkely.......... KVD aint going to win... i hope Kim Bain does good but i aint betting on it

in the other post i think my picks were a little different than these. but since we are going we decided that all of us would put $5 in a pot and pick 3 anglers, you would get the total weights for those anglers and the whoever had the highest weight would win the pot. we also decided to put all of the anglers in a hat and draw one name for a wildcard to offset anyone who picks the same guys (by the way we said you couldn't pick kvd but you could draw him as a wildcard). my picks were:
1. greg hackney 2. mike iaconelli 3. boyd duckett since you asked for five picks i will also add scott rook and kelly jordon. my wifes picks: 1. mike iaconelli 2. edwin evers 3. terry scroggins dads picks: 1. mike mcclelland 2. todd faircloth 3. timmy horton my cousin and his wife are also going and i am not sure who they picked yet but i think this little pot should be a lot of fun.

C-rig, that is a cool way to do it--I wish I known this a week sooner, I could have got some my fishing buddies and took their money.
1-greg hackney 2-kvd 3-john crews (local boy) 4-ike 5-kim bain

Kim Bain will be interesting this year....Everyone is counting her out and fishing is one of those sports you never know what is going to happen....It wouldn't surprise me if she is still there and has a chance during the last day!!!!

just so i don't look like a jerk here (well anymore than usual anyways). i am not counting kim bain out because she is a female, i am not really counting her out at all. but when you look at the weights that the women bassmasters put up and compare them to the elite guys, the women are not very close at all. i know that they don't fish the same lakes under the same conditions at the same time the guys do, but i really think that there is a big decline in ability from the elite guys to the women. fishing isn't a sport that requires a guys strength, and women are capable catching fish just as well as men do but i really don't see her has having the talent it would require for her to really compete. if i am wrong i will admit it monday, and it would be cool to see her finish well but i just don't think it will happen.

yeah i agree with c-rigs explanation about Kim Bain... the drop off is huge and as they say "the fish dont care who is holding the rod on the other end".... i mean some women do ok in the opens.... case in point one of the women fininshed in mid 20 range at the harris chain lakes .... thats pretty good....
i dont see whats holding them back.... i beat all the adults in my club last year overall... just got to be consistent tho.... i was like Martens .... could get seconds but not a win.... haha .... sorry to Aaron Martens

NEVER count KVD out...i am willing to bet that he places in the top 10 if not the top 3....that river does not fit KVD's style of fishin, but he WILL adapt and catch fish...i will be amazed if he isnt still in it on day 3 |

hahahaha, had ya goning huh? naaaa i am a WANNABE. hahaha, and they are right, the mrs bamabassman is the real pro (kidding here too). she outfishes me each and every time we go out. i don't really watch the "pros". watch the versus channel now that i got it on dish. but as far as who wins...it ain't gonna put in money in my account, lol. i just love to fish and have fun learning from other folks. maybe one day i might try a few REAL small tournies, but not now. gotta learn to catch em and not get embarrassed, lmao.
