Default old Browning rod

Guys my dad gave me an old browning rod the other day ,it is a browning silaflex model 11910 magnum, the rod was purchased in 1959 by my dad he said he gave 61 dollars for it back then. My question is does this rod have any collector value ,if so how much is it worth (the rod is in excellent condition )it looks like it was never used to me but he said he used it quite a bit. i would never sell it but was wondering if it has value for insurance purposes.any help would be appreciated thanks

sentimental value is worth more than monetary value flue. if my father gave ME a rod that old, i would not even THINK of selling it either man. as to the actual insurance value i couldn't tell you pal. but hang on a while and someone will point you int eh right direction. would love to see picture of it though. can you do that for us?

I have no idea what that rod would be worth, but I'm 99% sure the Silaflex was reintroduced to the market recently.

Yes they are available at BPS $39.95
I've got 2 of them and love them,Best deal around and would gladly pay twice that and still feel like I stole them.
Any chance we can get a picture of the 1959 model??
Would love to see it.

In 1977 I paid $70.00+ for the original Ugly Stik,(made in USA) And about the same for a Zebco Cardinal 4 to go with it!
I was earning about $50.00 a day at the time.(Good money then)
I still have them both
Will pass on to grandkids someday, hope they appreciate them....
