Default Went Bass fishing..but got something else

So me and bigfelk22 went to one of our lakes and got a little more than we bargained for. So I'm throwing a spinnerbait and Mr. Gator popped up right infront of my spinner and went for it. So I threw it again to see what he would do and chomped at it again. So I went to cast again and then SNAP!!!!The line broke mid cast(gator teeth put a hurting on mono I guess)
We looked for like 2 min for the spinner and then it fell in the water 50yds away. That thing must have been 30,000 ft in the air.
Anyway, bigfelk22 was throwing a white trick worm, and what do you know, Gators like white trick worms and went after it like that worm owed him money. The fight was on!
20# Power Pro did great(I now am switching to Power Pro braid) So we got him close enough to try to have the least amount of line hanging off him. Unfortunately he got hooked, but this will be a day we wont forget. Got some great pics too.

That poor lil' gator...just mindin his own business when two mean ol' fishermen come up and harass him like that. Someone should call the ASPCA on y.... what am I sayin?!?! I probably would have done it too LOL. I can only imagine how much fun that was!! How big was he? Watch out you don't lose a hand or something.

Sounds like what me and my buddy Richi did last year. He threw his worm at a little 3 or 3 1/2 ft gator, who followed it back to the boat. Once he was there, Richi let him catch it, and hooked him just barely on one side of his mouth. He could pulled him in to where I could grab him behind the head and by the tail. I picked him up, both of us laughing and yelling victory cries. After the initial euphoria passed, I looked at Richi and said "Ok, now what?" Neither one of us had a camera, and nobody was around to see it. So, Richi took him from me and looked at him for a minute, then we threw him back in.

I'd be careful of him, Mallen. Something's wrong with his medulla oblon-gata.

Ya, I freaking hate gators! They're pesky things, I lost my first spro popping frog to a gator chilling in a hydrilla mat, as soon as I cast, I hear a snap. I set the hook and my frog is gone, than I see the gator!

Thanks for the pics!

I think he was about 5ft. This guy popped up from the water and started chasing our lures around, it was like he didn't want us to fish there (or maybe he did? I think he wanted our catch) It was amazing seeing him chase our lures around. I guess we were fishing in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

It reminded me of Tarpon fishing at Boca Grand Pass. You could be fighting a 150lbs Tarpon and them BAM! a 12ft Hammerhead bites it in half.

I owned a spectacled caiman named Milo once. I got him free from someone who didn't want to take care of him anymore. I thought it would be fun, but it ended up being a real hassle. He would wait until dark, then find a way to climb out of his aquarium.

You ain't never been fearful until you've stuck your hand blind under a chest of drawers to grab an angry 16" long crocodile! I ended up giving him away (sound familiar? hah) to a guy who owned dozens of reptiles. Every time I hear a story of a caiman found in a local pond (it does happen once in a while), it always makes me wonder if it's my long lost buddy, Milo.

Like I said, he was a hassle, but he was really fun to watch hunt crickets on his "beach" in the aquarium. He would stalk them, then EXPLODE out of the water. He also ate a lot of goldfish, all except for one particular comet I offered him. Either he just didn't look tasty, or the fish was too fast; that danged goldfish eventually lived long enough to get too big for him to eat, so I started calling them "Milo and Otis", lol.

Crocs and Indiana = not good.

Believe me, we really didn't want this guy 2 ft away from us. We just didn't want the cut the line when grabbed the worm and have 25yrds of braid hanging off him.

Closest I ever came was when a big pike nailed a bluegill. Which really isn't close....

I have a bearded dragon that goes after crickets like they said somethin about his momma, but I'm willing to bet the caiman was much more fun to watch. Oddly enough, I have 3 lizards and I'm not even a reptile kinda guy

Well, you all are beter than me. Since we don't have any large toothy critters like that out here, I would likely run around and scream if one popped up in my pond.

To quote Bill Cosby, first I would day it, and then I would do it....

We've got some of the furry kind, but they tend to stay away. If I was in the water & saw a gator or croc, I'd be running on top of the water like Richard Pryor in The Toy. Probably screaming like a girl too
