Default Finally struck gold!

Fished a tourney on Grand today and we had a great day. I stuck a solid 3lber on my second or third cast and that is where the snowball started. By 9:00 we were culling 3lbers and we actually got culled a few 4lbers and gained a couple ounces. We ended up winning it by 5lbs with 21.60lbs. Caught all of our fish on a Bomber Firetiger crankbait. I did get broke off though by an absolute monster. She ate my flippin tube and got me into a brush pile before I could get her turned. I could still feel her head shakes even though she had me hung but she sawed me off before we could get the boat in to her. Even though we won the tournament this fish is going to haunt me for a while because I have caught several 5 to 7lbers and I konw this fish was bigger than that. Anyways we had a great time and there is nothing quite like throwing back 3lbers in front of other tournament boats who are begging for keepers to fill out a limit . I have been needing a good finish for a while now so hopefully this win will put me in a groove!

Congrats! That's a rather big margin of victory, especially for a one day deal!
If you are anything like me, the one that got away will overshadow the rest unfortunately, but that's what keeps us motivated.

Here is a pic of our bag. The guy on my right is my partner and he is one bad dude on Grand. As a matter of fact in the pic we are standing a few hundred yards from his house which has a boat ramp more less in his back yard so he is on the lake a lot and has a ton of knowledge about this lake. Not to mention he is funny as hell and keeps me cracking up and laughing all day long.

Thanks man. Truthfully we had a 45 minute stretch where we lost 3 legit 5lbers and that is also when I got broke off by that giant. It's crazy to think that we could have culled those 2 "smaller fish" with fish that were the same size as the bigger 3 in our bag and if I didn't get broke off we would have had a huge kicker. Now that would have been a crazy bag.

No kidding...two 5 pounders, two of your original 4 pounders, plus the maybe 8 or 9 pound kicker...that's getting up around 27-ish.
I'd be happy with that...

Thanks guys, it was a great tourney and like I said I hope it snowballs into a great season. And it wasn't too cold but we were fishing a pretty big cold front. The weather was in the mid 60s but it was raining most of the day and we had a north wind.
