Water temp- No clue
Lures used- Spinnerbait, Jitterbug, Aruku Shad, Floating Rapala, Spro Frog
Clarity- Crystal clear to quite dark
Locations- Otter, Grass and Upper Herring Lakes. The Betsie River and a Lake whose name I don't know. I think that's where that horse came from..

Apparently they're ALL on their beds or just hate Mallen's guts. The hits I hAVE gotten were more of the "Get outta my room" variety vs the "Whatdjoo say about my Momma?" variety.

If I were you I think I would try some slower moving baits like t-rigs, c-rigs, tubes, Senkos and jigs. If they are on beds these baits should be more likely to provoke a bite.

Season started off good before the spawn. Since it's been over not to much. Waiting for the trout fishers to slow down so I can fish some of the lakes close by. Will get better when I am able to go to my cabin at Pymatuning.

Mallen....its been tough recently here on the west side as well. Got out a week ago and only got a couple myself but my son did get two three pounders on a crankbait. Spent an hour Thursday morning shore fishing in the rain and wind and only got one dink on a Pop R. I think its been the typical Michigan cold then warm weather. With the warm up forecasted and the full moon this week the spawn should be peaking. I'll be out for a few hours tomorrow and again Wednesday (hopefully) so we'll see.

Just be careful with that dynamite...you don't want to blow a hole in your boat.

I can beat that. I still can't even legally fish for bass here yet.

That will all change next Saturday however!

Mallen, that sucks man. BUT we were just fishing and we killed em. On pretty much all the lures you mentioned and more. it didn't matter what we threw they would hit it like a freight train. you should see my bass thumb! and my arms are killin' me!

lol, none of that's true, I just wanted to rub it in a bit. Except for our first trip earlier this year, all we've caught were a few pike (and a crappie, lol)

Yep! I been usin my stepmom's kayak, and she don't know! Although she's pretty smart and probably figured it out from the bass pic I sent their way a couple weeks ago lol.
If she did figure it out, she could at least tell me where the paddle's at!

Well I might have had ONE keeper in the last week but without a tape measure, it was a close call.
Thankfully, it was a smallmouth at least, so I did get to see him do the tail dance 3 times

I am telling ya man soft plastic swimbaits from a company called kietech . The baits are called swing impacts and swing impact fats , and then swim imacts from 3" to 5" these baits are killer man , only thing is they got a squid scent which takes some getting used to but the fish love em
