I wanted to weigh (yeah, I know, I know ) in on this topic once more. First of all, either find your scales or get some more. That way next time, we won't be having this discussion. Secondly, it doesn't really matter the exact weight of that fish. 4.5, 6, 7.2......whatever. You had a great day (which was long overdue), and you got a great story to tell.
Thirdly, I think that fish is bigger then 4.5. It is mostly head, there's not much fat on that one. But still, it's a big fish. I know this is not going to be a very accurate way to judge it, but take a look at this fish. Bo Thomas caught it at the first BF.com get-together in 2008. It weighed almost exactly 4 pounds, according to my digital scale...the weight flickered back and forth between 3.15 and 4.0 while she was on it. The perspective is not quite right between the photos...Bo is holding his fish closer to his body than you are, and he's kind of a skinny guy, but you can get an idea about the comparitive size, anyway. Yours looks a good bit bigger than that one. 7 pounds? Maybe...but I'd say easily 5.5 or 6.
I dunno...that's just my opinion, which is worth exactly what you paid for it...

thanks daniel. and I AM GONNA GET ANOTHER SCALE!! i am so mad aobut the lost one i can't see straight. lisa still wants to mount it for me, and it is already wrapped up and in the deep freezer. so i will have SOMETHING on these huge walls, lol. gonnalook small up there though, my ceiling goes up 25 feet to the top. guess i gotta go get a BIGGER fish or 2 huh?

by the way i held the fish about 2 inches away form me during the pic. i am 6'1" and weigh 230 pounds. does that help? don't matter none really. it's going on the wall.

again.thanks daniel.
