Lake Casa Blanca

Today, I went fishin' at Lake Casa Blanca... I went to this cement structure, about 4-5 foot water depth, I was fishing a small crappie tube jig.. I caught a 14 in. bass, my father caught 2 catfish and a bluegill.. I got alot of bites... i just could not set them (I was excited with all the action!). I need help on how to set the hook properly.

Any comments, please do not hesitate to ask... thanks!

what kind of pole are you using medium or medium heavy and how was the tude rigged ? if you were using a lighter pole sometimes it is not enough to pull the hook through the tube for a fast set .

Jim... I was using a very LIGHT action rod... that may be the case... If I use a spincast rod, medium action, will the bites still be as noticable? I rigged the tube with a jig head (1/4ounce). I also noticed that I forgot to SHARPEN the hooks .

Thanks,

I' think it is probably the really light rod, I'd I agree with Jim... You should still feel the bites fine with a medium rod....
