Kentucky lake
Went out this morning with a friend, had a great day as well.
Main lake 70 f,stiff breeze, points pea gravel at cove entrances, schoolers were active, best baits were topwater, gsplash, horny toad and a buzzbait. Quite a few keepers boated all from same mold 15-17 in. Yes im tired but happily so. |

Has the North wind moved in yet? Haven't been out there since late August.

About 9 to noon it hit, wasnt calm after that yet still hit buzzbaits and horny toads,I couldnt see them just felt the slam or saw the fish an set the hook.
The gsplash in the chop didnt work, but did early like in the pic. Other than that first hr the kind of day one thinks cant get bit on topwater,as cant even see the bait. I was fishing what is known as the breakers, shallow water bar and wave action. 15 mph wind it starts looking like the ocean. |

1 1/2 ft clarity, could see the bottom in 5-6 ft between rollers,sw wind 20mph,nw at around 18,ne at around 15 all gusting a tad higher but overall average fall day.
Not a hit the fan day. Top water and one couldnt see the bait at least half the time. This is a hit the fan day that barge front end is 8 ft off the water or more. Notice being older and wiser took it from the bank, gone out in 3fters on plane come back in over 5 off, been there done that ,prefer not to when given the choice. The problem is she never asks, and is quite unforgiving.Pic is as like real life misleading as part out to that marker buoy is protected by land mass. You can hide a 21-22 ft with a 7 ft beam in between these, ive ridden as a passenger and couldnt see other boats 100 ft away just tops of heads and at times the boat, was also glad I wasnt driving that day, pays to wear a rain suit is all I can say. This is semi protected big sandy.N and s winds only effect it Last edited by lilmule; 09-30-11 at 10:21 AM. |
