First outing of the season.................
Howdy all,
Ok, ok I really didn't get out yet. Catch and release starts here Saturday, but unfortunately I'm working and will have to wait until Sunday. Forecast is partly cloudy and a high of 70 so I'm pumped. I have new line spooled, tackle box replenished, boat cleaned up with the only remaining thing to do is to charge up my battery which I plan on doing tomorrow. Last year was truly my first year of strictly bass fishing and needless to say I was hooked immediately. I've learned alot through the LONG winter by lurking this forum, reading magazines, etc. I think I'm 1000% ahead of where I was last year in regards to knowledge and strategy. I loaded up on lots of new baits that I'll be trying and just can't wait to get on the water. Hopefully, I'll have some pics to post Sunday night when I get home. Many thanks to all of you that contribute to this forum for helping out a greenhorn. |

Our winter was fairly mild but seemed unusually long also. Best of luck to you!

Spent 4 hours on the water this evening with my daughter and caught 4 largemouths a piece. We didn't catch any worth measuring, but I would say they all ranged from 10-12 inches. All were caught using Dingers (baby bass) The 2 pics are the first ones caught for the season for both of us.
It was a beautiful day to be out. Partly cloudy with a high of 68. Water temp was 52 and is slowly ticking up. We're still hitting evening lows in the 30's so it will be a few weeks before the water temp breaks 60. So our first outing of the season is in the books and cabin fever has broke.....lol. Have a busy week coming up so I'll have to wait until Saturday or Sunday to get back out. It was a total blast to get back out on the water again. |
