Default Took a big dump

Thats my addition to the cavalcade of misleading topic headings on this board - and there are a lot worse!

I went over some class 3 rapids in my yak the other day. I was swamped and flipped. Lost my favorite rod, broke the temple fork 5 wt, lost my consolidated tacklebox which was basically the best of the best lures I had, and thoroughly soaked my new iphone which is sitting in some rice now and wont turn on right. A rough day, but I guess these are the moments where you just shrug it off, and do what you can.

We're all going to have days like that and all you can do is cuss a bit, get yourself back together and start over. Hope your phone survived! As for the fishing gear, ggrrrrrraagghhhhhh!!!!!! Yeah, I'm sure you feel like that. I know I would.

Wow that has to really be a bummer, losing all of that tackle.

Glad you're ok Billy, all that other stuff can be repalced. Not a bad lead in title, 'cause I'm sure you needed a good wipe, once you got back to shore.

It was actually pretty funny, I wasn't scared for myself, but I kept trying to dive under the kayak and get my phone and my rod. One of the people kayaking with me was meanwhile trying to keep me from drowning, but I was like I don't care about that, I gotta get my phone! I probably washed downstream with the kayak a good 100 yards.

Well the important thing I want to know was whether or not someone caught the whole thing on video?

Damn, Billy. Sorry to hear about your swimming trip.

Maybe you can sue someone over it.

This is the exact spot, and similar manner, by which I went down. My problem was that the waves came over my left side and started to swamp the boat, and then it shifted under the water and began to flip. Maybe had I had a sit-on-top I would have been ok. I have replayed it in my mind several times, and there wasn't much I could have done once I hit the whitewater - should have just secured my stuff even better, and not taken a phone.

Good thing you went in the water because your toilet paper would have been wet anyways. Sucks to hear about losing your stuff though. I lost a box a couple of years ago in a creek and sacrificed not flipping the boat and everything else it it for the box. I wish I could watch the vids but someone liked to illegally download video and got pinged on the IP address, so no video for me.

I assume that you are fine, or you would't be sending us this message, and after all you are more important than anything you lost or damaged, God Bless and better luck next time.
