Yet some still argue that it's pseudoscience...

By the way, I won't agree or disagree about the micros till I try them myself.

The only down side to the micros i've been able to find is that they make a lot of noise on the cast.

i used an 40 year old lews speed spool.-bb1n-you want noise, that thing sounds like a beer can full of gravel being thrown a flight of stairs when ya cast it..

I understand that the Micro Guides increase casting distance but what other purpose do they serve? I mean what is the benefit to having them on a flippin stick because casting distance isn't an issue when you are flipping.

Weight reduction is the biggest thing...

Ha I could imagine the ruckus that line would make through the micro guides and the reel itself. I put some P-line Cxx (or Slinky as I refer to it often) on mine just to hear it, and it was rough.

Bingo. Lighter tip on a flippin stick would also increase sensitivity.

Just this past weekend I went from using my Micro Carrot Stick Flippin Stick to my cousins Loomis IMX flippin stick and I won't be going back to regular guides for flippin anytime soon.

Especially usefull for feeling a bedding fish bite, cause sometimes you can't feel it at all, and by the time you realize you've got a bite the fish has already sucked and spewed the bait out of the bed.
