Default playin in the pads..

this morning..now bassinNC can tell ya this is a slue off the main feeder creek.. the same place i fish with my bass boat..i needed the work out so i took the yak..

paddlin thru these lillys is a CHORE.. you don't stroke and glide. you stroke and stop..

i was working the edge of the grassy spots and open areas with the blade..it was working..

i lost a nice one on the blade when he wrapped me in a pad stalk..

but caught several more on that blade..

and of course what would a post be without a bama sized runt..

he hit the frog as soon as it landed-a LONG cast back into the pads-i had to go in after him..

That's a thought! Missourrah's pretty cheap to live though!
My best buddy from the Navy is currently living in MO, too, which is a plus.

Theres a few pads over on Barkley in ky and murphies pond is chock full of them also chock full of cottonmouths(most dense population in the usa),part of the Obion watershed, also chock full of pads and cyprus stumps.
Just across the state line in tn we have quite a lot on ky lake.

I frog it all the time, and its one of the best holes I have.putting out a 5 or 6 or both every trip.Braid at least 45pd and a stout rod.
Thats on ky lake,Barkley has some in upper little river section or did last year.
To get fields like this they are below new johnsonville.
The obion watershed from tn to its exit at murhies pond ky is also several hundred acres at a time, well or even better suited for a yak.
