Beautiful Canyon Lake 4/5/07
Reb and I launched at Turkey Creek (County Launch #2) approx 1015 hrs.
Fished there, catching an occasional dink, then moseyed over to the other arm of the cove, catching a few more there...ain't this exciting? Thence up to Comal Creek, fishing the two brushy coves just inside the entry to the cove. Yep, caught a few more. Then down the long bank on the same side, and caught a couple more...WOW! Most fish were caught on Stiki Tix and DUM Yingers, 4",5",6" but we did catch a couple on binnerspaits and 'Sparts. All fish were dinks, including a smallie or two. Back on the trailer just at sundown. Considering NE winds, bluebird skies, etc, it was a nice day. Lotsa deer to watch close by and an entertaining hour watching two babes trying (unsuccessfully) to launch a pontoon boat. Actually, we should have ceased angling and assisted them...no joke here, OK? I think we both feel a little badly for not having done so. They finally drove off w/o ever having gotten it off the trailer. Reb outfished the Old Preaux, 18-17, and we had a nice day on Beautiful Canyon Lake, The Jewel Of The Texas Hill Country. The lake is 5 feet over pool and looks lovely. Wish it would stay that way for a lonnnnnnnnnng time. Hope we get out next week, but wonder what this incoming cold and nasty front will create. That will be all for now. FR |
