My G. Loomis GLX arrived today...How can you tell if...
I received my G. Loomis GLX model #MBR842C today. I had bought it on e-bay for a great price I thought. $212 delvered for a $370 rod. I was told it's a great deal as long as it's not a repair or factory second.
The seller sold it as an unused display model without any tags on it. My qusetion is, if it's a factory repair or factory second, will there be any markings on the rod to let me know this? Thanks, Brian |

Nothing if it was a good repairman. Look for a funky placed guide that could cover a splice I guess. Don't pick it apart too bad, fish with and then make your decision on whether it was worth it or not. Don't kill the joy of getting a high rack rod for half the price. Might not be anything wrong with it.

Yeah, look it over and see if anything looks wrong or out of place. I would also measure it and make sure it's 7'. A lot of rods get broken tips that get replaced.

So far so good. I can't see and splicing or hints of a tip repair. This rod is dead on 7 ft with my Vendetta and St. Croix rods.
