That's a fine looking plug mule, if I was a fish I"d eat it. You going to keep those stock silver hooks or change?

Most likly will switch one out the one closest to the head for vmc red, possibly both will wait to view it in the wa wa.
Which wont be long.Water temp has stayed above norm 48.2F kentucky lake now.Raised 1 degree in a week not dropped.
Many dont realize it but about 1/2 a doz creeks entering ky lake(also stocked very near it) are stocked with small catch able rainbows.

Same here..put out some brushpiles yest. and water was 49.2! On the exact same date and same lake last year it was 41 and falling. I wonder if fish need an extended period of really cold water, like some kind of reset button. Like peach trees...if they don't have a certain # of nights below freezing then they won't bloom right the following spring. Probably not, at least I hope not.

Yeah to some degree you hit the nail firmly and on the head, like all things such as peach ,apple trees will bud out then in march get bit back, think cold fronts effect fish more myself under those conditions.
Ive still got green stuff alive in my pond not looking pristine but alive, same to lesser degree on ky lake pondweed has green centers.

Also some lilly pads slightly covered now with recent rains, dark but alive.

Yes taken days ago
