$1.04 for both reels
I like to place min bids on stuff and sometimes get them, like a brand new tro4 27 p prop for 90 dollars(one of my more expensive purchases),also had a ten dollar off paypal coupon, sold it used for more than that 2 years later.
ryobi reels and bantam those older ones made about 1980 are still good if in working order as have low gr like 4/7/1 and 4/8/1 super for cranking and weigh just 7-8 oz
compare that weight to the new reels
two bearing reels seem to cast just as far for most brands

I remeber having a Ryobi baitcaster back in the 80's that featured a deal where whenever you mashed the thumbar down the line guide would dis-engage and just sort of float back and forth arounf the middle of the spool between two low pressure springs. You got any of those type and do you see them much on ebay. Everytime I visit ebay all I ever see is people sellin stuff at "buy it now prices" that I can buy as cheap or cheaper right up the road. Maybe I ain't doin it right or don't look often enough.

I missed one few days ago it went for 11 something, one on there now but several days to go at around 6 bucks, very lil boat rash.
But i set a figure when I bid and never go back as might be prone to raise it.
Ive bought several johnson model 10 -40-80 simply because I had one when a child, line comes out the side and can be placed on a fly rod for crappie fishing, and they cast fine just look weird.
Guess some come from estate sales as some are like new, even though 20-30 years old,and some are just plain wore out, pays to know whos selling and what the reel is like ask for more pics etc.

I have a few Ebay sellers I do business with that have always served me well, so most of my tackle purchases are from them. I often find stuff overseas that I can have shipped cheaper than if I bought it locally, so the fish of southwest Virginia often haven't seen the lures I throw at them.

I usually have a number in mind and I don't go over that. I know there's always another good deal around the corner. There's so much being sold on Ebay that there's some sick deals if you just pay attention. I bought a Lucky Craft Malas for $3.50 shipped in 2009.

Great find! I've bought a good number of reels and baits for way below retail. You have to be patient and you have to be vigilant.
