Default Rend Lake

A buddy of mine wants to go fish Rend Lake in Illinois this weekend. He's not a big fisherman, and I've never been there. So I'm hoping for some advice.

I hear the lake is shallow, and that I should ignore the rocks and look for grass. Spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and lipless? (I know John will say a lizard ).

I'm hoping the fall bite will have started and they'll have the feedbags on.

I'd be carefull following that advice - could cost you a lower unit. Sorry, that was too good to let go.
