Default dream fishing

well its been a year since my grandparents have moved down to the great state of mississippi, but now they have moved to city called petal.across the street is a private pond, and it sure did look nice.i finally got the nerve to go talk to the owners. theres was a fence that said no tresppasing near the gate of the pond.after talking to them they said the pond hasnt had a lure dropped in it,but it was stocked bluegill, shad and bass.they said im the only one who has ever asked about fishing it.they said i could make myself at home and fish all i want.to tell you the truth,my heart stopped.well it was fishing time,it happened to be cloudy and rainy.it was alm ost time for me to leave since they lived an hour away and i had school the next day.i tied on a bleeding rat-l-trap and first cast landed a two pounder, the first 5 fish were all caught in the same spot,by lily pads.2nd fish,3 pounds.3 fish broke brand new 12 test line, must have been a little damaged from the other fish.i decided to put on a white/chartues spinnerbait and they liked that too.4th fish was 2 pounds
and the 5th was 3 and a half.then i moved to another spot of lilys but didnt land a thing,i think it was because it was shallower.but i moved to a flat and caught two back to back 4 pounders!!!!!!!!amazing.then i moved around and fished for another 30 minutes catching 5 fish anywhere from 1 to two pounds.im bringing a camera and measuring tape next weekend boys and yall are in trouble

Awesome! I love fishing private ponds. I'm glad you got the nerve to ask the owners. For the most part, if you let the folks know you plan on releasing your fish and pick up all your garbage, they'll be cool about it. I've offered to do fence mending, lawn mowing, and on better looking ones offered money. Sometimes they still refuse. It never hurts to ask people, the worst they can do is say no.

awesome dude! I fish 3 or 4 private ponds, but heres a little tip, if they are home at the time, you should tell them before you fish it because it is best if they know you are out there! Thanks

WTG!

You're on the right path to fine tuning your game.. I'd fish the heck out of it, having a place to yourself, you can really learn the seaonal changes the bass make and where they relate to KH
