Default Why are the prices different?

The price for the Revo Premier at Bass Pro is 279.99, but on the Abu website it lists the Premier for 259.99. Anyone know why this is?

Maybe a mark up for profit? You are skipping a middle man and going straight to the dealer. Just my opinion and guess. But then again, I was looking at Bandit cranks and they are 5.19 at their website and 4.79 at tacklewarehouse.com Go figure.

TN...the Abu website is showing the 2009 model, which had an MSRP of $259.99. The BPS website is showing the upgraded 2010 model, which has obviously had a price upgrade too.

Take a look at the picture the Abu website shows.

http://www.abugarcia.com/prod.php?k=...=132584&u=REVO PRM

That definitley looks like the 2010 model. It could all just be a mistake.

Um...the picture just switched for me. It was the older one a few minutes ago, then the picture became unavailable, then it changed to the new one. I think Abu must be in the middle of updating their website. Check in a couple of days and see if it's correct.

Oh... figured it had to either be an update or a mistake.

I was about to call Bass pro customer service and point that out lol. See if maybe I could get a 20$ discount.

Bass Pro will price match most of the time so if it turns out that is the same reel then I would check with them and see. Most likely if it is the same reel then the Abu-Garcia website is selling them at MSRP and Bass Pro is selling them for a little over MSRP.

Most of the time, manufacturers websited list different prices than stores. But I've found the prices to be higher on most manufacturer's sites.

The manufacturer listed the Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price. The retailer can sell it for less, and they will in order to undercut the competition.
