Some frogging pointers
I realize most around here have been frogging for awhile.
Me too but I still liked the pointers this angler gives. Good video too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbkoR4Lsw8Q

Great video!
I must admit, I've always done the opposite, dragging the frog slowly across the pads. Can't hurt to try his method!

mule I have one of those Barinskys and never caught a darn thing with it. Maybe cause it's green and not pink.
Good video. I like his delivery.

Angola python,black,and bubblegum pink,size 70 caught these.
Where else but secret hole 179 50lb red cajin braid all star heavy action flippin/frog combo, almost back to back casts. I also use capt kens designer frogs, both take a unique hookset, most using them would quit as to many missed fish-all due to learning that hookset. 249.95 you can graduate from the lilmule school of bassin ,gps coordinates and hat an T shirt included. No longer made in 60 or 70 just the micro in 50,so import mine from jap pro anglers, come with their own lil duty stamp. You wanna sell yours? You can take spray paint and change the color to say black be a bit sticky for month or so but does stick on and work, black is better in say a 60. Last edited by lilmule; 04-07-13 at 09:46 AM. |

All jokes aside anyone that comes here will take them to it,was a sunny bluebird day after a front but he still caught one.
I was kind of busy at the time with my wife and her illness so didnt get to much time to show them around as much as Id like. He caught his on a buzzbait,so other lures can be used, was early pads not super thick. In all fairness the spro jr in black is the most popular one to be used here,im just not a follower.I use odd stuff others cant easily duplicate including a c rigged buzzbait can toss a country mile. |

Mule not going to sell mine. Thanks anyway. It was a gift from a guy who wanted to go on to pro fish. Tried to show him what little I knew at the time. Haven't seen his name come up yet but I hope he does good if he went pro. Maybe I will paint it. Now as soon as I scrounge up the $249.95 you can school me.

I watched this video a while back while watching several hundred thousand others on youtube one day when it was about 30 degrees below zero a couple months ago. I like what he has to say. I will note, I've often used his aggressive style when fishing frogs. While it will produce strikes, often on days that a slower presentation will not, I find it also reduces the hookup ratio from missed strikes. But if there is a strike and the bass misses, at least you know where he is and you can slow down and work that particular bass. There are days when a slower presentation works better. But if that isn't working, try speeding it up to get that reaction bite. Working bass in the pads with a frog is much like a rattle trap in open water. The vibrations let the bass know the lure is coming well before it gets to the bass. I found it interesting that he points out working narrow opening rather than larger openings. I myself have noticed I have more strikes where there is very little opening in the pads, than I do working the frog in larger open pockets. Man, I can't wait to start tossing a frog again!

Pretty cool video. That fish at the 5:10 mark was close enough to his feet that he could have tied that guys shoelaces together.
