http://www.rodsbyairrus.com/rods_ultra_xl.html From what I was told, the handle is made of a material that retains body temperature so when your fishing in cold temperatures, it doesn't feel cold like other fishing rods do.Its pricey, but I like the rod blank exposed as much as it is and there isn't no foregrip that you never use anyway.I have gotta look at the removable butt section and balance thing, but I wouldn't know what a balanced rod is suposed to feel like anyway. PnJ, haven't tried an Airrus rod-although the bait monkey did make me order 2 Falcon Low Rider crankbait rods the other day . Regarding a balanced rod-I got one of the BPS balancer kits for a BPS rod, and while it did shift the center of gravity to the trigger on the rod it made the rod itself just too heavy for me to comfortably use.

Rebbasser, I never thought about that.Adding weight to balance it will increase the weight you have to fish with all day.I am going to buy a 7' MH to try anyway as soon as I get the rest of the money saved up.I was just arguing at work , my cousin bought a $165.00 pair of boots for work and I told him he has rocks in his head for spending that much money on work boots. Here I am going to spend $160.00 on a fishing rod I don't need, Yep I have got my priorities right. i balance all my rods.i had elbow problems and couldn't cast with an unbalanced rod anymore.yes it makes the rod heavier but if you cast with your wrist and not your entire arm you don't feel it and the rod feels weightless.it all depends on your fishing style.i know a guy who always sticks the rod butt in his gut when fishing soft plastics so for him a balancer would be stupid.a balanced rod is also much more sensative because the tip is weightless and all you feel is the lure.like i say,it all depends on your style and how you hold your rods.

Default Airrus Rods

I used one quite often last year. Love the sensitivity and the way it fits in the had. I used it often throwing a Storm 5" swimbait with 1 oz of lead in it. My arm and hand got sore throwing it with another rod.

I bought 3 more of them and will be switching out my rods over the next year so I only use them.

pig n jig, I just bought 2 Airrus rods at Cabelas. They were $59.00 each. One is a 7ft. mh and the other is a 6'6"mh. They must be going to discontinue them. They had several others. All were on sale. They seem to be pretty good rods. 1fastlaser uses them and I bought them on his recommendation. I will be using the 7fter. with my curado SF. And the other with the new citica I also bought. They feel a little heavier than the Kistler I have but the price was right. I won't be using them for a while yet but I am sure they will do the job.

Medium works for worming for me. I have broken off too many fish worming that have hit about 6 feet away and I gave them the old WAM and there they went. With a medium I don't really care if they strike short.

a properly balanced rod is more sensative because the tip is no longer heavy.it is now weightless.this increases your feel because you are not using your strength to hold the rod up.you will absolutely be able to fell better with a properly balanced rod.

PNJ
My offer still stands for you and any others that by a airrus rod and dont like it. I own 4 to prsent and am adding as funds allow. My offer is...If you dont like it give me a holler and let me know what the price will be and I will send you the funds. No I aint sponsored by airrus but I like them that much. They have a 30/70 action that is outta this world and sensitivity is fantastic. Yes the rod does retain your body heat makin it comfortable in cold water. They are only maybe a oz heavier than any other rod I have used. After I get my arsenal all changed over to airrus I will be selling my other rods. The rods that bassin where talkin bout dicountinuing are the sirrus rods. Airrus changed names because they come up with a better rod so therefore changed there names. I couldnt beleive they could make a better rod but they did. I realy did my homework on these before buying. Let meknow how you like em.

Laser, I am gaining towards having the money for the rod.If I don't like it it will go well with the collection of rods I don't like. Thinking of buying a table at a tackle show a local bass club is putting on in March so I can unload this crap to make room for the new and improved stuff on my list.P N J
