Best day ever numbers wise.
Got out today and had what I believe was my best day ever as far as numbers of bass caught. I ended up landing 34 bass, and another 6 or so shook off. Wild action for sure. All but one were caught on a Heddon Baby Torpedo which is one of my favorite lures for this lake. Worms, cranks, spinnerbaits, you name it, nothing would draw a strike today except for this Baby Torpedo. Had a couple guys in a bassboat come by to ask what I was doing as no one was catching anything. I told them what and how, but they didn't have a Baby Torpedo. Yeah, me in my jonboat, I had a twisted sense of "OH YEAH". haha The secret to todays catch was how the Torpedo was worked. You had to barely twitch it, just enought to get the blade to spin. Short twitch twitch pause, and you caught fish. Increase the action and nothing. Conditions were very overcast and calm. When the wind picked up the bite died. As soon as you had glass conditions, they attacked the Torpedo. Attacked is not really correct. They sorta just sluped it in. You really had to watch to see the lure dissapear under the water. Cast it out near shore near any cover and you were in buisness. Especially over the tops of submerged grassbeds with brush nearby. The largest bass pictured I estimate at around 5 pounds. The smaller one was number 34. I might add, I did catch a bluegill that was full of attitude. How it got that 4/0 hook in it's mouth is beyond me.

I have a Tiny Torpedo in White with the Silver skeleton on the side... I love that little thing in the fall when they go real shallow before dropping the lake for winter...
