Well it ain't a bass, but...
I couldn't find a better way to spend the last couple of days with my boys before I head out again. We headed out this evening to a little catfish pond and tore them up. They kept me busy though, I was sweating like a man beast running up and down the bank. We probably ended up with about 15 or 16 head. The heat made me lose count. We kept 10 on a stringer though and should be enjoying a good meal down the road. But they said nada on the liver that was left over. So without further a due, check out Tanner "Mean Gene" and Dylan "Doodie" tearin' up the cats:
If you watch closely, you can see the handle on MG rod leaving in the water. the 202 was recovered with fish still in tow shortly after though. I think it was the only one I got to reel in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7t3yA98V5o Tanner's first unassisted catch. He ain't much on throwing, but he takes care of business after it hits the water. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83Nhw7yC1ME

I wish I could have got it recorded when that fish tail slapped Tanner across the face. He just stood over him and said hey you, you taste like fish. I was rolling. I have to be quick with the clippers though and try to lop the barbs off of them because he isn't afraid of much of anything. He just pounces on them like he is in a backyard scuff. Dylan is a different story though, he is very cautious and will only grab them by the tail.

Kudos to you for taking the kids fishing, even if it isn't for bass. I really like the last photo.

"Get out of your chair........ Stand up and act like your fishing" LOL best quote in the videos.

That's awesome! That must have been so much fun! I'm so jealous because I am an expert cat fishermen lol.
I use to sneak on to a golf course here in NYC night, they had the biggest catfish in these stupid little golf course ponds. |
