Boaters Helping?
Anyone seem to notice that when you are fishing structure and a boat runs over your spot a couple of times you start to get bites? Happened today....was getting a lot of boat traffic on the water until about 2 o clock and the bite turned off......I was on the bank but the boats kept going over my spot!

yes boat traffic can actually make fishing better, this is because the boats keep the bait fish stirred up. i have actually seen guys fish a spot and when the bite stops they will start the big motor and idle through it and start catching fish again. very nice job on picking up on this pattern!

I've noticed this pattern as well. Both on large lakes where constant traffic can be a stimulate to feeding like current, and in smallie streams where my feet stir up the bottom. Yes thats right, I have had bass follow the trail I leave in the water picking up loose crayfish and the like that have been agitated by my presense.

If ya'll remember, Jay Yelas used this type technique in the Bassmasters Classic. A pontoon came by him and he turned around and caught a 6 lber where the boat had just ran.

yeah.....sometimes I think bass on big lakes just get used to the boat traffic and it doesn't do much to them....only time is if it changes the water clarity.
