Default Bass from Cedar Creek lake Ky

My first big bass of the year, she is over 19",and a hair over 4lbs. Caught on a 4.5" Stanley lizard, watermelon red, in about two foot of water, and the water temp was 48/50F. Took the picture and turn her loose to spawn this year. Sorry for the big picture, forgot to resize.

That is a beautiful fish...clear water judging by her color.

And T you know good and well he's going to eat that candy bar upon conclusion of the safe release as a celebratory snack.....everybody knows Snickers are packed with peanuts! even the ones that have been stepped on in the heat of battle.

Great fish, man! And nothing wrong with a big picture. Some of us need that these days in order to see them.

If the fish didn't satisfy him, the snickers would. Nice haul!

Yes sir, that I am. This lake is fairly new, and three years ago the wife and I had, not one, but two trees also fall on us. If I had not gotten hung up on a tree, the first one would had hit us (we both got chills up our arms), if not, splashed us for sure, the second one miss us by about 30'. We/I watch a lot closer now, and are very careful when brushing up against a large tree. It's pretty neat really, everytime we/I go to this lake it's changed. Less trees standing, were one couldn't go in, we almost can now, or can fish it.

Bassfisher, I live in Lexington and have fished Cedar Creek quite a bit. When you had stated that you were hung up in some wood, it didn't suprise me given the vast expanse of timber at that lake. Honestly, sometimes it is hard to know where to start fishing, as Cedar Creek may be the "bassiest" looking lake I have ever been to. You may or may not know, but when it warms up there is a HUGE underwater rock pile located in front of the dam that tends to hold some nice fish in the summer. Just a place you wouldn't think to look for since it is so easy to run down the lake and find some timber to fish.

Did you find this fish in the creeks or on the main lake? Just curious, hope you wouldn't mind to share. Great fish, and I wish you great fishing the rest of the year!

Say dhaddix, I know about that place, good crappie hole also. Two of my bass 19/22 were in the some cove. The other 19 was on the main lake heading to fishing pier, on the right hand side. Thanks and goood luck to you also man!! I've fish that lake since a year after it opened, I know some nice holes, from bluegill, crappie, cats, and of course BASS!! You do know it has smallies also don't ya, and bluecats??
