Default 3 old lures

i found 3 old lures at my grandpas house while we were cleaning it out and they look real old but ive never seen anything like them in stores. here are some pics. by the way they all are topwater.

its like a bent fish and the hooks are on his side. it rides side down.

its a frog. that is the bottom top looks like a frog pattern. the round thing is a place to put batterys. im guessing there is a light in the small hole.

i call this flippy fish. the barrel swivel on the front is tied to liek nylon string. when you pull it out it comes back in like a toy. but while it coming in the pink tail flips around. i tested it in the sink and it makes a distubance in the water and spins around.

just wanted to know if i should try these out or if i should keep them put up.

the middle one is the dancing frog or kicking frog-can't remember right now- made back in the mid 80's i think.. the top lure is VERY old and in very good shape. year i aint sure of mid 50's maybe early -fly rod probly be able to tell ya- bottom think this one was called the swimming fish or some thing like that. seen several of them made in the 60's or so..

I would try them ou but its completely up to you just no that theres that chance that you might never see them again. Once you lose them theres a good chance that they will be lost forever.

Yep, I'd hang on to them. They might be worth something.

Lol...Yep they got bug eyes. The hook in the side of the body does not hook up very well. Its got a loud rattle in it though, bring along alot of patience if you fish it, the hook seems to snag on your line causing it to foul easily. There is a reason they don't make them any more. Lmao....... P N J

I am thinking the eyes aren't quite as bugged out as your bait seems to be.I can't get the angle right on the scanner.P N J

or maybe he was mistaken?

I would say keep them put up also. Search amazon and ebay for the names people have dropped and see what you can find. maybe even try google image with those names and do some comparison.

That top one is a good idea though just needs to be reworked i think.

Send pics into Bassmaster, and request what it's worth. They do that in every magazine I beleive. I would keep them in a box if they were my grandpa's. Just me, but I'd hate to lose one of those, all of them are rather unique in their design.

Go to Bassmaster.com, and find out where to send the pics. Many times they post pics of these items in the magazine, and the info about them. You will have to contact them to find out specifics.

I am sure it states in the info on their site what happens if they choose you to answer. Give them the whole story about grandpa and all.

I have the frog....with the battery in, it makes a ribbit sound over and over when the two screws on the bottom are wet. If you have a battery in it, you can test it by wetting your finger and touching the two screws shown on the bottom. I think the hole you mentioned is a transducer of sorts that projects the sound downward into the water.
