Default Bad Day for Dad = Great day for Son! Pictures!

Got 4 hours of fishing in today with my son and my father. Not a great day to fish, really hot really early. I got shutout, lost a nice fish at the boat... Brushhog Jr. caught the only two bass of the day and they were pigs (for us). He did a great job of workong both fish. The first one jumped on him and the second one ran to timber. He played them both perfectly. Caught them on a Senko, Texas rigged weightless, two casts apart! The second one was actually longer and just as fat, Jr. just didn't turn it sideways!

Thats awesome, congrats to your son. Nothing better than to see a young man enjoying himself while in the outdoors.

Thanks Fly - the extra wide, flat stern canoe we are sitting in was refurbished by Granpa and given to JR... Honest to god fellas it doesn't get much better!!!

Fish measured 18 and 20 inches respectively and both just missed 5 pounds!!

Thanks again to everyone here who has taught me so much , so that I, in turn, may teach my boy.

Sometimes that happens when I take my daughter fishing and I don't feel bad at all. I actually get excited when she outfishes me. At least I am catching fish vicariously through her.

A coming of age right before our very eyes.....or posts. That is awesome. Stay proud and keep that boy fishing! Who knows, 10 years from now he could revolutionize the fishing industry. Instead of seeing Tiger in the headlines, we could be seeing "Brushhog Jr. wins another tournament".

Thank you for showing him a great hobby he can use all his life. Plus saves money away from the bars.

Mine just turned 2 and his dad and grandfather are chomping at the bit for him to get just a little bit older before we take him out. I already have a bunch of little hooks for catching perch. Keep that boy busy all day if I can. Or at least as long as I can hold his interest. You are a lucky man, Brush...

Brushhog, congrats to you and your son for the trip alone, let alone the fish.

The only way I can fish with my dad now is in my memories, and I have a lot of them thanks to him. You all need to make sure you give your kids lots of those memories, you just never know when that is all they will have.

Very nice... always good to introduce the children to fishing. Unfortunately my principal sat on my fishing club idea... so I am offering "guided" trips for free to anyone in my school interested. taking two out next saturday. But beautiful fish, both of them beat my PB :/ gotta get out more

That's a great idea, except I'm way more into jacking up my post count than I am into "fishin" for compliments!
