Got an Abu Garcia, Ambassadeur REVO SX-HS reel, along with an All-Star Platinum Med. Action rod!

Any comments?

Low rider, what line do you have in it? They supplied the FREE H2O Express line, but it seems like it's no good.

The All-star Platinum rod is very sensative. I Tried it yesterday, and I was able to feel every little lump, bite, and structure! It's truly the best rod I have ever used

stevo

i used some vanish flouro 14lb for a while, did good except for the inherent memory prob with all flouros.

now i'm using good ol stren orig mono in 14lb.

btw i'm a believer in the kvd line and lure conditioner. spray all my reels with it 2 days before a trip.

Stevo - line is based on lure and conditions you'll be fishing and less on the rod and reel (does play a small role). If you're flippin' into heavy cover then heavier more abrasive resistant line. Swimming baits through grass then probably braid. Tossing crankbaits in 8-12' + then probably 10-12 lb fluoro. For all around probably 12lb XT or XL type line.

Can't help you with the rod but the Revo's in general have a good reputation.

Just got my first Revo Prem. on Sunday and put it on my custom 6'6" Fast Med/Hvy swimbait rod. Combo weighs in around 11-12oz. Sweet. Going to try it out next weekend.
