Default My co-worker's first bass

One of the guys I work with is a salt water fisherman who has never really gotten into Bass fishing. Since we have a pond on base, he has spent the past week trying to land the elusive LMB.
We got close on Tuesday, but he waited to long to set the hook on one and then had one spit the hook when it left the water.

Today I set him up with a drop shot rig. We were working the 15 foot water over piles of rocks. He had a 5" sexy shad robo tied on when he hooked into this "monster". We did not have the scale handy, but I am not sure that my scale would have supported the beast anyways.
He wanted to have it mounted, but I convinced him that a replica is just as nice.

Good idea, cass...keep his expectations low, so that when he finally latches onto a decent 3-4 pounder, he'll think he's got Moby Dick on the line.

You know, most guys use a net for catching bait, but you can use your rod and reel if you insist on doing things the hard way.

After the picture was taken did he just crumple it up and throw it behind him?
