Default My daughters bass

I took my kids over my dad's yesterday to fish for a little while. I bought my daughter a new rod and reel after hers got broken last time out. I put a blue fleck shakey head power worm on a hook with no weight for her and she caught a bass on the first cast. Her second bass ever by herself. When I was picking the fish up out of the water I noticed a bigger fish following it. We couldn't get another bite. We were in the house with my parents for a while and I went back out just to make a few casts with a Strike King Ocho (Senko Bait) and caught the one I think was following my daughters fish earlier. It weighed between 4-5 lbs. I think. Pretty cool way to cap off the weekend!

Those are some nice fish! Never caught much on a senko type bait... probably cause I'm using the big ones!

What a cool way to spend time with your kids, and obviously you both had a great time. She's got that million dollar smile. Way to go. And oh, where is that pond anyways???

keep at it...u will figure it out. it is not hard to fish as far as skill, its just hard to make your self fish it slow enough. theres usually not much to the bite either. usually just a soft "tick tick" or simply feeling "different"

those are both nice fish man. glad yall had a good time

Thanks guys! That was a treat to have my daughter catch that fish. She doesn't go with me as often as my son. My boy is 6 (my daughter is 9) and he took the picture of me with my fish. He ran out of the house when he saw me catch it. They both stay with my parents on Tuesdays while the wife and I work. I put a new crankbait on Jake's rod last night for him to fish with today. Hope he hooks a big one! Thanks again... it's so awesome to see them catch fish!
