Default a long bass story

while en-route to the bassfishin.com get togather on ky lake. i stopped to fish the defeated creek lake state park. which my banjo pluckin tennesse kin pretty much own the head waters of.. while there i was informed my order arrived from high roller tackle.talk about a day late and a few hundred miles short. in my order was a 3.25" high roller-in shad- and a 3.25" rip roller-in frog-...

i did not get a chance to use these baits afore i got locked up in the hospital for 36 days..after getting out i was too messed up-weak- from the ordeal to really do any fishing...till TODAY...

i have wanting to fish so bad it hurt. i figured from the bank was just as good as from the boat to bust the rust loose..well i grabbed a rod this morning tieing on the rip roller. snatching up da blade stick in passing.. i drove to a known public fishing spot on the main lake -tuckertown-..

talk about doingin it ALL wrong... stained water,10-15 mph EAST wind, completely loose drag-doh!-,mid morning, and a prop bait...

i was just playing with the prop bait, slinging it out there in a weed free 4 feet deep bare bank flat. i have never seriously worked a prop bait in water this rough/choppy.

noting i can make the rip roller walk-d-dawg with the propper adjustment.i worked the bait for about the 5th time over a dark spot -alge on the bottom- just making lili walk da doogie type yanks that would sputter the tail prop.i am likin dis...

when KABOOOM he hit like a train wreck goin down hill..having backed the drag all the way off upon storing the rod/reel in febuary..doh!!!.... i set the hook with my thumb on the spool while tightening the drag.this loose drag allowed him to burrow into the green booger alge. 15 pound ande mono says he was coming out. which he did bringing 5 pounds of green bogger wid him..i had to remove most of it for this picture..

he was released to warn da others, that i am BACK!!!!!

Glad you're back out there, zook. I know it's been way too long.
