When did I move to Canada?!?
I've lived in northern IA and southern MN for my entire life, so I like to think I'm pretty used to the harsh realities of winter weather in these parts. The next 2-3 days, however, are going to be brutally cold, even for what I'm used to. The forecast is calling for wind chills in the -30 to -40 range DURING THE DAY on Sunday, and it's supposed to hit -50 on Sunday night. Earlier this afternoon, Governor Dayton ordered all public schools closed on Monday due to the bitterly cold weather that is in the forecast. The HIGH temp here on Monday is supposed to be -16 with wind chills in the -30 to -40 range again. I'm glad I have the day off from work on Monday. I might just hibernate for 3 days and hopefully wake up in time for work on Tuesday!

That should make the ice safe to DRIVE on, no pulling a sled out to the fishing hut (I hope you have a hut with those temps) by hand. Yeah, I gave up ice fishing 20 years ago, I ain't as stupid as I look (most days anyway).

We have the same forecast for here in Northern Indiana too Dean, with those strong winds blasting right off Lake Michigan. Actually, they said on the radio last night, some areas could see a wind chill of -70! This has to be the coldest winter I can remember in decades. We have been in the deep freeze since the last week of November. I can only remember 3 days since then that we were above freezing. The entire month of December, our average highs have been in the mid teens to low 20's. Many days never even made it into the teens. Winter really sucks! Thanks God I can park my car in a garage at night.

The low in Florence Alabama for Monday is to be 5 degrees. That's Alabama, where people move to escape the cold!

Sunday rain changing to ice pellets then snow dropping to 3 f and wind gusting 20-30 mph that equates to minus 40 or so-as for your cold world please keep it up there.

We're better off than most of y'all, but it's really cold for here. 24 right now, wind chill brings it down to 11. Tonight's low is 14, but it's not going to be as breezy, so the wind chill goes down to only 8.
We average only 1 day a year where the temperature doesn't get above freezing. But we went under it late yesterday afternoon, and we won't get back above it till Wednesday afternoon. It's so cold, the hookers downtown are charging $20 just to blow on your hands. But here's the good news.....the high Friday is 64.

It's 10:40 pm right now. I just looked at my thermometer outside and it's -4. Tomorrow it's going all the way up to 8. Didn't want to go out tomorrow but have a lot of business to take of. Coldbasser take it back.

It's Winter in Wisconsin
And the gentle breezes blow. Seventy miles an hour, At thirty-five below. Oh, how I love Wisconsin, When the snow's up to your butt. You take a breath of winter air And your nose gets frozen shut. Yes, the weather here is wonderful, So I guess I'll hang around. I could never leave Wisconsin, 'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!
