Default fall fishing

well it is getting to be that time a year again. where ya throw the contents of your tackle box all day. every way ya can think of to catch fish.
i caught 7 fish lost 2 more on 6 differant baits. 1 fish was a striper-2 pounder- on chips carolina crank. 2 on a spinner bait,1 on a mini crank-chips-,1 on a diamond shad-strike king-,1 on a x-rap-lost 1 -,hung a good bass on a mud bug in 30+ feet of water,lost 1 on a swim bait.
what pattern?where?i basicly did the gambit of crawling it to burning it. shallow and deep. i will go on record as saying i dislike this type of fishing ALOT.
as the lake was clear but loggy in the lower end. and it was muddy and thick-like plow - on the upper end. i used 2 differant colors-depth to a tackle bag is a must-shad and hommer/chatruse was used.

please note i left the lake at 11:00am as i have to get off this thing and do the *******honey do list.

I hear you, Zooker. WeÂ*had high, muddy water and threw the tackle box and didn't get a hit. Â*I knew I should have gone to the lower end of the lake to get into some clear water. Â*Oh well, at least I didn't get thunderstormed out this time!

Hey...at least you guys are going fishing. I missed the fall period down here, due to the fact that work has been backed up out the wazzu. It will probably be spring time before I can hit the water again.

Getting off from work is not the problem for I am a sub-contractor. I can take off whatever days I want too. The problem comes from the money I lose out on, when I take that day off. But it is looking like it is going to stay warm down here for a week or two. I may try to go next weekend. It's been warm here too long, need to get cold, so we can have a pre-spawn soon.

Zook,

Â*When you read my PM you'll know how we did yest.
Not all anglers did well, some did downright poorly.
We finally found some fish and caught them on Rattle-trap "type" baits. The action was fast for a while, then it slowed down a little. (water was appx. 60 degrees)
Â*I actually caught 5 or 6 out of one area. Unfortunately only two would keep. Granted, these two were good keepers.
Once we found the shad, we found the bass.
Missed out of "angler of the year by 1 vote". Believe it or not your buddy Ricky got that one.
Missed most improved angler I expect by alot of votes, but thats ok , didn't really want that one anyway !
1st overall ain't Â*bad though.See 'ya soon.

One of my goals has always been to weigh in a minimum of one fish per event. So far I'm still trying even after 20 yrs.
Granted, the number that I have weighed in somewhat compensates for each tournament that I skunked in.
This year I either won, placed second or didn't weigh in anything. No 3rds or 4ths just tied for last.
One exception, when no fish are weighed in by the entire club then I've tied for first !
