Default 1999 Mariner 200 EFI

What does anyone know about these motors? I have looked around online and found some say junk, some say treasure. Any of you have a personal attachment or story to go with the motor.

Flea sent me a few pictures of a 1999 901??? with a Mariner 200 EFI. The for sale sticker had a 20' boat, $6500, and a phone number. I was surprised Flea told me she ran her hand on the boat and didn't see or feel any egg shelling of the gel coat. I must have taught her well on our last outing. She just said it could use a better cleaning job.

I go home in about 10 days, so maybe if it is still there...who knows? I would never buy it though without some motor reports or a test run though.

Same with nitros, while the new z models are popular not a well finished boat, yet owners like them, just dont try to run new wiring with arms inside the boat, fiberglass cuts.
As for the motor the same it was a merc, owners like them generally, looks like no jp or its small, its not a fast boat but well suited to fishing.DC I like myself,me id take it for a spin see how she does and dont accept a lil tuneup will cure it,it generally wont.
Known hrs on motor?Compression check?Smoke much, have low end punch, near needing rebuilt?
Sound transom?
Private sale about right,96 Blazer DC over here 3.5 now 3k bare boat(does have troller and jack plate ) ,2200 for same era 200 he will toss on.

Location Cadiz ky- it is a bit bright but in good shape

looking at the cowling in the picture, that motor is not a 1999. it is more like a 1991 top 1993. guess moot point since it is gone anyway.
