Ignore list

Recently there has been 'a few' posts expressing unhappiness with each other and some of the wording and topics 'each other' chooses to use or not use.
Ya I'm reasonably sure I'm on numerous 'each other' lists.

Anyway, I don't understand. Kevin has kindly installed an Ignore List option that eliminates you ever recieving a post or thread from those that irritate you. Doesn't exclude you from the thread (unless thread started by irritater) just the chosen individual's responses.
Now I'm not recomending anyone's usage of this option because I read them all!
Maybe it's because I want to at least attempt to understand everyone's view points, helps ME grow.
This is not aimed at any specific thread, post or person!
So PLEASE don't feel I'm targeting ANYONE. I like all of you and don't agree with any of you!

I just thought it should be known of it's existence. If you want to see if or how it works, you can start with my name. You know I'll say or post something stupid usually on a daily basis.

I think ignore lists are a ridiculous, passive-aggressive joke only appealing to "last word" freaks. The squabble always ends with "ok, bud...you're on ignore" or some other pathetic effeminate post.

If you want to ignore someone....IGNORE THEM!

What forums ought to have is "invisible" lists, where you can make it where members you don't like can't see what you post. The confusion would be fun as well.

Good idea to point that out Joe. I'm sure many guys know about the ignore list but I'm sure theres many that dont. Good post.

You got to remember some people cant restrain themselves when it comes to trying to ignore someone.

Also I believe when you put someone on your ignore they cant see your post and you cannot see their posts.

On one forum I frequent that is the way it works. But I dont know I could possibly be wrong when it comes to this forum, I'm sure its all how the site author wants it to work.

But yes nofear I think with the majority of us being adults should be able to let stuff slide and not get our feathers all riled up over petty arguments.

Im not saying I've never gotten into a petty arguments on other forums because I have, but I also dont put this forum in the category of others. Theres really something special about this one, one of the best forums ive come acrossed is this one.

I tried the ignore list but bama found me on FB and has my phone number so it didn't work out well for me. Luv ya buddy!

HEY, THANKS JOE. That ignore thingamajiggy is great. I now can only see my own posts and comments - they're the only ones I'm interested in anyway. I'll leave you un-ignored for 24 hrs until you see this, then I'll be alone with myself. It's a dang shame the other guys won't see this, they'll just think I rode off into the sunset, when in fact I've gained total control fo BassFishing.com. It's mine, (insert maniacal laughter) MINE.

On a sports forum i used to be on, a buddy of mine was given a one week ban.
It's been a while, but if I remember correctly, he could post messages, but only the administrators could see them.
He and I were on yahoo IM and he would tell me what he'd just posted. I'd go in and reply to it. this went on for about 1/2 hour or so.
Both administrators were viewing the thread. Had to be scratchin their heads big time
