Fishin' with James86
Jay with his 1.8# bass. My 11oz bass, with the change up rig still in his mouth. My huge 6oz bass... New forum member, James86 aka Jay, and I went out to a couple of lakes this evening with one of his friends. Between us we landed four fish. Jay took the first on a triblade buzzer. I took the next one on a Bass Magic swimbait rigged on a changed up. Look for a post about the change up later. You can see it in one of my pics. I took the final bass later at the second lake on a black worm. I didn't even begin to reel before this little guy slammed the worm. I thought I was snagged, but it was a tiny bass... He had a lot of spunk for his size. I hope to catch him again in a few years. The first place we went was the golf course where I caught the gator and got stung in the face. I have fished there quite a few times now, but to my surprise we got chased off today. Believe me I was hot over that, but managed to keep it to myself. Apparently one of the residents got a bug up their but because someone was enjoying themselves and called it in. Tomorrow morning we are going to meet up at another lake and see if we strike it lucky.

I'm glad you had fun.
I was a bit disappointed. You never gave me any candy...

That was the first bass I'd caught in a while. I was pretty surprised I got him on a buzzbait. Gotta love top-water fishing.

Got a good one this morning. Weighed in at 4lb 10oz, courtesy of BassFeverJohn's scale. Yet again it was on a buzzbait. Having good luck with the buzzbait. |

Man it was a good day. They were killing the shakey head with a chartreuse ribbon tail.

I quit watching the Braves after 94. Was a sad year. Actually I think I quit watching baseball completely after 94.

I haven't watched 10 solid minutes of baseball since the strike. But thinking about the braves is better than thinking about the Tide...

Well I only landed one today, but it was a good one. It was my first ever on a buzzbait! I don't currently own any, so jay was kind enough to let me try one of his, and three casts in this 1.11# bass nailed it. I had many more strikes on worms and such, but failed to bring any in, though I did get a nice little bream. On some bread. Jay's buddy pulled in a 5.8# grass carp on a dough ball. That was pretty awesome. But the big story of the day was jay and his shakyhaed worms. He was doing pretty good with those, I think he pulled in three fish, including the one above with the worm in its mouth.
All in all it was an awesome day. I look forward to doing it again soon!
