After my post I got the BPS ctalog out and found the X-Rap.$6.49..not to bad.....looking at the paint job on the baits are almost enuff to sell me.I'm gonna have to get one or 2.If any of you guys have the BPS catalog go look at the colors and tell if the purple/ gold one is not a killer looking bait. The only thhing is it does say how deep it dives?????? any idea's?.

Yes they work great, try the Clown color Just posted on another post that they will slowly sink though. Which is tough to fish them in heavy wooded/brush areas, cuz they keep getting hung up. But that Lure retreiver will do the trick Great action on that bait for sure.

yea the paint is exellent. i have the light blue color. it wont chip because the paint is underneath a layer of coating, not exposed like in most lures. and the scales detail is also pretty impressive.

Jb, you seem to be a big fan of the clown rogue. You are starting to convince me that I should add one to my arsenal.

Per your suggestions, I think picked up that color in a 4 1/2 inch. I might have asked this before but do you have a size preference on this bait? I was thinking that the smaller may be better since I will be throwing them earlier in the season.
Do the larger 5 1/2 inch rogues work as well as the smaller rogues? |

BTW, I have to give credit to zooker, for he is the first one who I ever heard from about these baits. I'm glad I listened to him about them. I don't have the Saltwater version of them, but the freshwater version catches fish for sure. Lizards

The X-Raps are decent baits, but no other jerking baits beats a Smithwick Rogue. This time of year I will only use 4 baits, 1.Rogue 2.Jig 3.Spinnerbait 4.Plastic Worm. The Rogue will be the first thing I throw in the early spring every time.

standard jerk bait moves. play around with lenth of pause and jerks some of the bass i caught this year were using an x-rap jerk VERY hard in fact broke an anti reverse gear doing it.. then letting it sit for 15 seconds-or more-..

I prefer the pearl white, also have a gold and clown. Ive caught fish w/ fast erratic retrieve and slow methodical twitch and reel. All depends what momma wants.
