Default Opening weekend 2012 (pic heavy)!

It's here!! It's here, it's here, it's here!!

It's been like waiting for Christmas, but it's finally here! Caught a couple good fish on a couple different techniques, but plastic creature baits seem to produce best.

I'd recently got one of my buddies into fishin. I've been showing him the ropes the past couple weeks and he finally got to put em to use this weekend.

Here's a couple from Saturday:

Started the season off with a bang with a 5 pound/20.5 incher on a Yum Wooly Hawgtail.

Priceless face... lol

Went back home, got some lunch, and headed back out tot he lake.

And another fallen victim to the Hawgtail.

And I've been searching for a good cover photo for facebook, and I got this crazy idea from one the nut cases here!

Yum Wooly Bullee (little ones need lovin too! )

Fast forward a day, and we're back on the water after I spent the night at his place. Woke up in the morning to cloudy, rainy skys. It let up a bit for us to head out for a couple hours.

Started off pretty good again with a soild 3, 3 1/2 pounder on a Baby Brush Hog.

Some salad came along too.

And lo and behold! The big guy finaly caught one! 10" worm of all things! lol

After a bit, I switch to a buzzbait and caught one right off the bat. Barly came up and grabbed it, trailer hook hot him.

Started raining heavy and we packed up a went home. All in all a pretty good weekend I think! Learned the fish are both Pre, post, and Mid spawn, and saw a couple males on a beds as well.

Hope ya'll enjoyed!

Sam You Am!

I read this Sunday and I'm sure I gave you grief on a reply! If I could only stay out of my on way my life could be so much easier.
Great job!
Looks like a good time was had.
Tell your buddy that I've fished for 40yrs. and I have never caught a Bass on a 10in. plastic.

Good to see you fishing.
Winds must have been a little calmer up north there. Blew hard here from about 9am on. Looked nice up there.
Thanks for the pics and the share.

Oh almost forgot.
Your jig rigging the Bully right?
You dragging it, swimming it, hopping it or all the presentations mentioned?
Who says being a Bully is always bad?

Thanks!

Baseball's over in about 2 weeks, so we're getting close to the end. Been doing some stuff here and there. Been doing poly push ups and stuff once a week. Recently got a cheap composite bench press for free, only got about 115 pounds worth, but it's enough for some military presses. Wont be able to do anything this week (other than saturday).. week's jammed with 5 games.

just texas rigging the Bully on a 3/16 weight, where shallow, and 1/4 where it's deeper. It's got a real slow fall cause of the them flappers. Nice hops to get the flappers doing their thing.
